Mipsy's stories
Mipsy's stories in Roller#
Below the worlds, the left column shows Stories: the Vault of Mipsy's story tree (folders, stories, chapters, scenes and moments). It appears once Roller is unlocked, with the same password. Mipsy's Public stories are not shown here, only the Vault. It is the same tree as in Mipsy: what you change here is changed there, and the other way round.
You can work with it just as in Mipsy: click the small arrows to open and close, right-click to add, rename or delete, and drag rows to reorder them. (The Scene Editor is only in Mipsy.)
From a story into the play#
Drag a row of the story tree into one of these boxes, and its text is copied there, at the place where you drop it:
- the boxes at the bottom: says, does, Events and Audience;
- the text box of the editor, when the Protocol, the Patcher, the Story, a character, a place or a backstory is open in the middle;
- the lines of a turn on the stage (to edit what was said).
You get the same text as when you drag that row into a box in Mipsy: a moment gives its text, a scene all its moments, a chapter all its scenes, a story or a folder its own notes. While you drag, the boxes that take it are outlined; anywhere else the drop is refused.
From the play into a story#
Select some text in the middle of the window (in a turn on the stage, in a box at the bottom or in the editor) and drag the selection onto the story tree:
- onto a scene: it becomes a new moment of that scene;
- onto a moment or a synopsis: it replaces its text (Roller asks first for a moment);
- onto a story or a folder: it becomes its own notes.
The text is copied: the play stays as it was. Rows of the worlds (games, places, characters) can't be dropped on the story tree.
