These are photos I’ve taking during a trip to Northern England, as part of a photography workshop.

The workshop was held by Mark Banks Photography, and our little group had a very good time. I had never done any sort of organized workshop before, but I can recommend it, based on this experience. Mark knows the area so well and is very friendly and knowledgeable.

On this trip, I had taken my Pentax K1 DSLR, and two film cameras. I often shoot Lomo 800 film, as it's a very nice, sensitive film stock and not expensive.

Now, I wanted to mention that due to the security scans at the airport, both rolls of Lomo 800 I brought (one 35-mm, the other 120) were badly altered by the rays, as you can see in some of the images. This one, shot with a Mamiya 645, is unfortunately a good example. Kodak Ektar and Lomo 100 were free of noticeable artefacts to my eye.

This was the first time I really noticed such a degradation. It was a good moment, too, because I had given these to a lab for development this time, instead of doing it myself, and had ordered a high-quality .tif scan of the negatives. So I'm quite sure that the alterations were not due to my own botchy development.
